So, for the past two months or so, [personal profile] yomimashou and I wrote a little Jun and Aiba something-or-other~ It was just for fun, so it's not the most eloquent thing I've ever written, of course, but I figured I'd post it here anyway! It's not for the feint of heart... and it's like ridiculously long, so it's going to be in multiple posts; I apologize! But I hope you do enjoy it if you choose to read it. ^^;

Things were moving in the right direction in the life of Matsumoto Jun. After all, by fourteen, he was a member of a very promising unit in the trainee group within Johnny's jimusho-- and not very many fourteen-year-olds could say that, could they? But Jun was certainly not just any fourteen-year-old. He was a fourteen-year-old with big dreams, big ambitions, and he was already taking steps to achieve them. After all, he'd have already starred in a major stage play, and would soon have his name to a movie, as well... all before he entered high school. If that wasn't an accomplishment, Jun didn't know what was, and while his singing wasn't that good and the awkwardness of his ever-growing gangly limbs and skinny body sometimes got in the way of his dancing, he was going to get places someday. All those billboards, commercials, TV shows with the members of SMAP smiling enchantingly out at the world... those would be Jun someday, he was positive of it. And well, sure, not all Juniors debuted as full-fledged Johnny's talents, but Jun wasn't going to let anything get in his way.

And why should anything? Though he was new to his unit, he had already begun to get along well with his groupmates. It was nice, being included in a unit this way with other boys around his own age with similar interests, much better than being a name and a face awash in a sea of Juniors. With an overflowing eagerness and friendly personality, Jun had never had trouble making casual friends, but it was really nice, nonetheless, to be around the same guys a lot of the time. And sure, Ninomiya-kun could be a bit of a selfish jerk sometimes, and yeah, Ikuta was still a little naive sometimes, and occasionally Aiba-kun could get a little over-excited, but they were all good, hardworking guys, and Jun knew they had a future together. They had the same dream, after all, more or less, and they were going to get it.

There was only one small hitch in Jun's relatively bright world, and that was his manager. It wasn't that he wasn't a good manager; Jun was quite sure that he was, and he'd gotten Jun the roles that were already putting him on the map. It was just that he expected a lot out of Jun--that was, he expected Jun to come to his office late into the evening, and... well... it wasn't so bad, but Jun didn't really like to think about it. It was because, his manager had explained, Jun had ambition, sure, but he didn't have as much going for him as the guys who had looks and talent and ambition. It was a lot of work to try to get good roles and opportunities for someone like Jun, he had said, and so Jun had to give a little extra. Which made sense, Jun supposed, and if it was what he had to do for the sake of his dream... at any rate, he could grit his teeth and bear it. And so long as he didn't tell anyone about it (as his manager strictly instructed him not to), he didn't have to think about it outside of those one or twice weekly meetings with his manager, and it was fine. For the most part.

But at any rate, outside of that one little snag, Jun's life was perfect, and it wasn't as if there wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel. As soon as Jun fine-tuned his skills, as soon as he showed the world what an outstanding talent he was, then it wouldn't be hard to get him work because he'd be in high demand, and then, in return, his manager wouldn't have to demand so much from him. It was only for right now, really, and so Jun simply looked ahead and gave his all at everything he did to make the day when he became famous come a little sooner.

And today's dance class was no exception. Jun liked dance classes a lot, anyway, because he was better at dancing than he was at singing, and he got to see his friends. It was an opportunity to make plans for afterwards-- often, the members of main would go to a nearby McDonald's or Starbucks to hang out, talk, and procrastinate on their homework. And, of course, Jun enjoyed the classes themselves; they were small steps towards the ultimate goal, and Jun never gave less than his all, never passed up any opportunity to improve. And so, today, he hurried to the studio from the train station, eager for class and to meet up with his friends. Inside, he dropped dropped his bag beside Ninomiya-kun's, hurrying to join in the conversation amongst the members of MAIN. It was going to be a good day, he had the feeling; any day at class or work with his friends was a good day, because Jun's life was in a good place.

At fourteen, Aiba liked his life.  He hadn't been so sure about the whole idol thing at first, but somewhere along they way he'd come to realize that there was probably nothing in the world more fun than being a Johnny's Junior.  Basketball might come close, but he wasn't so sure about that, even, anymore.  Dancing in a concert or acting in a play took just as much teamwork, let him spend just as much time with friends, and, he had to admit, was actually way more exciting--especially the energy and excitement of the fans at a concert.  Aiba didn't think that much about debuting, but when he was a backup dancer, he always found himself imagining what it would be like to do a whole concert with his own band.

But Aiba was a part of his very own unit, MAIN, and that was probably the best thing that had happened since he'd joined Johnny's.  He felt cool and important, being in an official unit, but more than that, he loved getting to spend so much time with the other members.  He sometimes missed having time to hang out with his friends back home in Chiba, but he couldn't have asked for better best friends than Nino, Toma, and Jun.  Sometimes it was hard to fit into the world of Johnny's, where everyone was so ambitious and talented and competitive, and probably came from rich families in Tokyo, but with MAIN Aiba always felt comfortable.  Just thinking about it made Aiba feel warm on the inside, and he grinned, a spring in his step as he made his way to the dance studio.

Bursting into the room, he flung his bag down at random, looking around for his groupmates.  Spotting the three of them already together, Aiba bounded over, throwing his arms around Nino from behind.  "Nino-pi!" he greeted, resting his chin on Nino's head.  Nino was engrossed in his Game Boy, of course, so Aiba untangled himself from around him and turned to the others.  "MatsuJun!  Toma-chan!"  He grinned, plopping himself down next to them on the floor.

Jun was surprised into silence mid-sentence as he and Ninomiya-kun and Ikuta were joined by their final member. Ninomiya-kun had been too engrossed in Pokemon Blue to be much conversation, anyway, and so Jun had been chatting with Ikuta about the newest issue of Shounen Jump-- Jun wasn't that into manga, really, but he'd borrowed it from a friend at school nonetheless for when he was bored on the train. At any rate, he hadn't had that much to say about it, so it really wasn't a bad thing when Aiba-kun had exploded into their little group.

But really, Jun thought, there wasn't anything that Aiba-kun did that was ever a bad thing. Out of all of them, he was the most energetic, the most enthusiastic all the time, even more so than Jun. He was nice all the time, and never had anything bad to say about anyone, and somehow, he brought out the best in Ninomiya-kun and Ikuta, Jun thought. Maybe he brought out the best in Jun, too; Jun didn't really know, but he definitely knew that he liked spending time with Aiba-kun. Because how could anyone not like spending time with someone who was nice and fun and full of energy and smiles and laughter all the time?

And on top of that, Jun admired Aiba-kun, because he was good at everything. Where Jun was working his hardest to get up to par with what was expected of a Johnny's member, Aiba-kun was there and more. He could sing, he could dance, he could act... and he was beautiful, too. Jun was honestly a little jealous, but more than that, he looked up to Aiba-kun, who seemed to be pretty much perfect in every way. No matter what he was doing, he outshone everyone, all the time.

And so, when he chirped, "MatsuJun!" Jun couldn't help but grin, nodding and greeting Aiba-kun back. Despite that they had only known one another for a few months, since Jun had joined their unit, Aiba-kun was already calling him by a nickname, making Jun feel completely included into the group even when he had been brand new. It was the sort of thing that might feel weird if done by the wrong person, but when Aiba-kun called everyone by their nicknames, it felt perfect and natural and right, and Jun liked it. And so, Jun grinned right back, asking, "How are you, Aiba-kun?"

"I'm great!" Aiba replied.  "How about you guys?"  Jun's smile was the best--he always looked so genuinely excited that Aiba couldn't help but grin back.  Aiba felt like he could practically feed off Jun's excitement sometimes.  Jun was definitely the most ambitious out of MAIN, but it wasn't like with some of the other Juniors, whose ambition made them unfriendly or stuck-up.  Jun was just so sure of what he wanted to be that he put his all into everything he did.  It made Aiba want to try harder, too, because after all, MAIN was something they all created together.

He'd been spending more time with just Jun lately, too, because they were filming a movie together!  It was Aiba's first time doing a movie, and even though the hours of filming were difficult and tiring, just the idea of being in a movie was enough to make up for it, and having Jun there with him made it even better.  "Are you excited for more filming tomorrow, MatsuJun?"

Filming-- that was right. Tomorrow they were filming again for their movie, Jun's very first movie. That in and of itself was exciting enough-- one more step towards stardom, one more step towards his dream. Being in a movie was definitely a big step, even if he didn't have a huge role, and lots of people would see it and learn his name and then he'd only move up from there. The stage play was amazing and the opportunity to act with Ninomiya-kun and Ikuta and Aiba-kun was really great, but a movie was in a whole different league, and Jun was giving it his all so that he'd be noticed for sure.

But then there was also the fact that he was filming it with Aiba-kun. It was great that there was another MAIN member in the movie with him, because it was always easier to have a friend, to have someone to ride the train with and chat during breaks and get lunch with, but even still... Jun thought, somehow, it was best that it was Aiba-kun out of the whole group. Maybe it was because he wasn't so familiar with video games so he couldn't always bond with Ninomiya-kun, or maybe it was because it was harder to relate with Ikuta, who was a whole year younger... but maybe it was just because Aiba-kun was brilliant and amazing and fun to be around no matter what. Jun had a sneaking suspicion it was the latter, and though he didn't really understand the feeling enough to put it into words, he liked being with Aiba-kun a whole lot. He wanted to get to know him better, wanted to spend time with him... and having this movie together was a stroke of good luck.

And so, "For sure!" he responded eagerly, his grin growing as he nodded again. "What about you, Aiba-kun? It feels like it's going by really fast, doesn't it?" He smiled, honestly excited to hear Aiba-kun's opinion; he wasn't stuck up or self-centered like some of the other boys, and talking to him was always easy.

"Yeah..." Aiba tilted his head, thinking.  It really was going by fast, considering how many hours they put into it.  He couldn't wait to see the finished product, but still, he'd be kind of sad when it was all done.  "I almost don't want it to be finished, you know?  But I'm sure there'll be something else cool to do afterwards...maybe we'll do something with all of MAIN again!"  He grinned and ruffled Toma's hair, not wanting him to feel left out.  Not that doing something with just Jun wasn't great--honestly, Aiba really hoped they could do more stuff like that, too.

"I know what you mean," Jun replied enthusiastically before he even thought about it-- honestly, despite that being able to say that he really was a movie star would be awesome, he was going to miss spending so much time with Aiba-kun when it was done. Doing stuff with all of MAIN was awesome, and Jun loved every second of working with a real group the way they all worked together, but he loved spending time alone with Aiba-kun in a completely different way. But to say that would be a little weird and more than a little embarrassing, so instead he thought a moment. "Maybe we could all be in a drama together! It'd be like Stand By Me, only better."

"Uwaa~  That would be so cool!  We could all have the starring roles!"  Aiba was quiet for a moment, imagining it.  "It'd be so much fun!  Right, Nino-pi?"  He poked Nino, looking over his shoulder at his game.  When Nino didn't respond, Aiba turned back to the others, unfazed.  "Man, I really hope we can do that!  But another stageplay could be fun too..."

"If there's another chance to do a stageplay, we'll totally be in it," Jun agreed eagerly, feeling a little excitement swell up inside of him just at the thought. "We were awesome last time-- they'd definitely want us again!" It didn't feel like just a hope; in some way, Jun was absolutely positive that, with how hard they worked, they would make it somewhere big in the near future. Still... Ninomiya-kun was so apathetic sometimes, and Toma was just so young and naive that Jun felt, just a tiny bit, that it would be best if he and Aiba-kun could keep doing things just the two of them. Not that he didn't want to keep doing things as a group, of course, and he did feel a little guilty at the thought, but... "Still... it would be fun to do another movie together... right?"

Aiba nodded enthusiastically.  "Yeah, it would be awesome!  Or a drama, or something...  Isn't it crazy that our drama's about to air?  I wonder how it'll do..." he mused, contemplating.  It was kind of crazy when he thought about it, that he'd only really known Jun for a few months, and they'd already gotten to do so much cool stuff together.  "Hey, do you guys want to go out for burgers or something after class?" Aiba asked as it occurred to him, abandoning their previous topic of conversation.

Jun was still musing on the topic of their drama, hoping that it would do well. Jun, of course, had given his all to make it a success, and had high hopes that it would be just another step towards building up his career. But then Aiba-kun was talking about going out after class, and almost before he was done talking, Ninomiya-kun as giving a grunt that sounded vaguely like a "yeah." Ikuta was nodding, as well, and then everyone was looking to Jun, who quickly agreed. "Yeah-- totally!" he replied hurriedly, rubbing the back of his neck. He had homework to do at some point, and his mother was probably going to make dinner at home... but spending time with his friends was way more important. Though, some small part of him was always hoping that the other two would bail, and it would be just him and Aiba-kun...

"Awesome!"  Aiba grinned at his friends, excited at the prospect of more time to hang out.  But a moment later, their teacher was getting ready to start class, and everyone was scrambling to get into place.  Although Aiba might not admit it to his friends back home, dance class was really fun, way more fun than he would've expected.  So, as they started in on their warm-up, Aiba had a smile on his face, excited for his plans with his friends after class, but also ready to give dancing his all.

Jun followed the rest of MAIN into the centre of the dance studio, standing beside Ikuta and behind Aiba-kun. Dance class was something he always looked forward to, and now that he had plans afterwards to anticipate, as well, he was in a thoroughly good mood, grinning to himself as the instructor lead the group through stretches and warm-ups. As they began to stretch their hips and flexibility, however, Aiba-kun caught Jun's eye, and he couldn't help but swallow; Aiba-kun was awfully flexible, and he just looked so good while stretching, before they had even gotten to the real dancing. The line of his thin body, the protuberant bones of his hips visible through his sweatpants as he spread his legs into splits, the tenseness of his muscles and the beads of sweat on his forehead--

But it was weird to be thinking about it, and when Jun realized he was staring, he looked away, trying to regain his concentration. It wouldn't be good for him to fall behind in dance! But it was just so hard with Aiba-kun so close to him, when Aiba-kun's body was so lithe and his movements were so graceful...

The stretching part of class was the least fun, in Aiba's opinion, and he let his eyes wander around the room as the teacher made them hold their splits for far longer than Aiba thought necessary.  Glancing behind him, he met Jun's gaze, which appeared to be concentrating hard on something.  Aiba flashed him a grin, and in lieu of a thumbs-up, he tried to wink, although the whole thing probably came off as more of a grimace, between the strain of stretching and the fact that Aiba was still working on the whole winking thing.

Eventually, they finished stretching, and the remainder of class passed fairly quickly.  When they were dismissed, Aiba went to gather his things and join his friends, wiping his sweat on the hem of his t-shirt.  Their group reassembled, someone suggested they go to a burger place nearby that they'd been to a few times before, so they set off in that direction, laughing and joking about some of the weirder dance moves they'd had to do during class.

Jun was strangely distracted through the remainder of the class; when he let his mind wander, it wandered to the mental image of Aiba-kun grinning at him and when he wasn't dancing, waiting for another group to finish a combination, his eyes were drawn to Aiba-kun, the way he moved the way he breathed, the look of concentration on his face all the while. It was weird of him, and when he caught himself, he frowned internally, reprimanding himself that if he let himself be distracted, he'd never improve. And besides, if Aiba-kun caught him staring, he'd think Jun was weird, and that was the last thing Jun wanted, even if he did get a weird tingly feeling in his stomach when he watched Aiba-kun dance.

But soon enough, class was over, and Jun and the rest of his friends were heading out to dinner together, laughing and joking all the way. It was times like these that Jun took a break from thinking about the future and was really completely happy to be where he was now, together with his friends. Dinners like this always went by too fast, and though Jun would have much rather stayed out all evening, soon enough, they were all in front of the train station parting ways. Ninomiya-kun and Aiba-kun were hanging together, as always, heading towards the Sobu line in the massive expanse that was the Shinjuku train station, and Ikuta was moving in the direction of the subway. After Jun had waved goodbye to their youngest member, he turned towards his fellow JR compatriots to bid them farewell before turning towards the lime green signs for the Yamanote line. "Catch you later," he called to Ninomiya-kun, then turned to Aiba-kun, his grin growing a little subconsciously. "See you soon for filming!"

Dinner passed all too quickly, between burgers and french fries and chatting with his friends, and Aiba wished he could make some excuse to hang out longer.  He knew he had to head home soon to avoid getting in trouble, though, so they would have to part ways at the train station.  He waved good-bye to Toma, watching him disappear among the crowd of people rushing towards the subway before turning back to the others.  He and Nino were both heading to the Sobu line, of course, but Jun had to take the Yamanote.  "See you tomorrow!  I can't wait!" Aiba said, meeting Jun's eyes and flashing a grin in return.

When Aiba-kun met Jun's eyes, Jun felt his breath catch in his throat, and he had to coax himself into nodding, which was hard, considering that he also had to remind himself not to let his jaw hang open. His heart was racing again and he could feel his face turning red, and though he didn't exactly want to turn away from Aiba-kun, but he didn't want him to see his weird reaction, either-- and what was with this weird reaction, anyway? He swallowed hard, trying to calm his breathing and quell that strange feeling just below his stomach and talk himself out of whatever the hell was going on. It wasn't a completely unfamiliar feeling; sometimes, when he was pressed a little too close to another boy his age on the train or watching SMAP PVs on TV, some of the same things happened, but that only led to bad things that Jun didn't want to think about and definitely didn't want to happen now, and besides, that sort of thing really shouldn't happen around Aiba-kun! It was stupid, and Jun was probably just too hyped up on endorphins from dance or something, and it was nothing-- nothing. Jun rolled his shoulders, trying to clear his head, before darting to the train. The last thing he needed was his mother to be angry at him for missing curfew, too.

Two weeks went by in the blink of any eye. Jun had a busy schedule, with school, homework, dance, singing practice, and filming, but despite that he had little down time, he wasn't stressed. It was what he liked doing, after all, and even if he had to squeeze in meetings with his manager in the evenings and stay up late to finish his homework, he was happy. He looked forward to dance and singing practice and seeing the rest of MAIN, and, most of all, he looked forward to filming.

Tonight was no different. There were quite a few night scenes in Shinjuku Shounen Tantei Dan, so Jun was required to be out late, but he didn't mind, even on days when he had to get in meetings with his manager beforehand. Tonight, they were filming a dramatic scene between Jun and Aiba-chan (the other boy had insisted Jun use the more endearing nickname a week earlier), and Jun's tension was up, a grin on his face whenever they weren't filming. They were almost done for the evening, but there was still one scene left, and so Jun waited at Aiba-chan's side, giving him a bit of a grin as they waited for direction.

Filming was definitely one of Aiba's favorite things to do lately.  Spending time on set made him feel incredibly cool, and his fellow cast members were all great to hang out with during down time.  He got to spend lots of time with Jun, especially, since they had so many scenes together, and Jun's smile and enthusiasm never failed to raise Aiba's tension.  That day, they'd been working on nighttime scenes, and they had one left with just the two of them.  Aiba was to be riding on his scooter while they talked, the director explained, and then at the end Jun would get on behind him to ride off.  It sounded like fun--more best friend bonding time between Kentarou and Sousuke--and Aiba nodded excitedly, running through his lines in his head as he got into place.

Jun jogged in place for a few moments as the director talked to the camera men for a few moments, warming himself up for the few moments' sprint he would have before he was to climb on the back of the scooter with Aiba-chan. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he was a little worried; despite the fact that Jun didn't like to think about it, the fact was that Jun's fourteen-year-old body didn't do well with close contact with other boys his age, for whatever the reason (he didn't think about it), and he didn't want the worst to happen here, of all places, with Aiba-chan. But Jun had a will of steel, and so he was confident that he could do this-- it was his job.

The director called places, and so Jun gave Aiba-chan a bit of a nervous grin before the scene began, and they took off. Jun jogged after Aiba-chan, rattling off his lines as best as possible, but when it came time for him to get onto the scooter, he slipped, his weight falling against Aiba-chan, the scooter rattling off to the side as they lost their balance. Jun laughed at the awkwardness of it and forced himself not to react otherwise, but his stomach clenched as he felt the warmth of his friend's body against his own, and he swallowed as he heard the director call for a cut. Just one more time, he'd do it right this time around, he told himself, and smiled sheepishly at Aiba-chan. "Sorry about that..."

"Crap--"  Aiba grabbed Jun's arm behind him as they were thrown off balance, losing his grip on the scooter in the process.  Meeting Jun's gaze, he let himself dissolve into giggles when he heard the cut.  "You okay?" he asked, getting himself back under control.  Jun's face looked kind of red, but it was hard to tell in the dim lighting--maybe he was embarrassed about messing up, or just shaken up by almost falling.  "Guess we need a little more practice with that..."  He smiled and shrugged--they were sure to get it right the next time.

Jun felt some of the tension in his body ease as Aiba-chan smiled at him, and he nodded. "Yeah... we'll get it next time, right?" However, as he began to try to think out the mechanics of his boarding the scooter in a way that would end in as little disaster as possible, the director instructed them to practice a few times in preparation for another take, to waste as little film as possible. It was a good idea in theory, but in Jun's mind, it was slightly horrifying, and he strengthened his resolve to get it right. So long as he didn't have to press up against Aiba-chan again, so long as he could keep the body contact minimal... it should be fine. And he shouldn't overthink it, either, he reminded himself. He worried about these things too much; other boys probably didn't have so much trouble because they weren't so OCD about everything. But Jun wanted everything to be perfect, and so, with a deep breath, he readied himself, nodding to his friend before running alongside the scooter once more, attempting to board after a moment.

It wasn't so bad this time, in terms of the movie, but the space on the scooter wasn't particularly expansive, and Jun's pubescent body wasn't exactly the most well-balanced. Trying not to fall this time, he launched himself onto the scooter full-force, which ended with him pressing himself right up against Aiba-chan's back. The scooter wobbled but they didn't fall, and Jun tried to concentrate on that fact, but instead, all he could think of was Aiba-chan, Aiba-chan, Aiba-chan, so warm, so close...

He only let his guard down for a split second, but even that was too much. When he realized what he was doing, Jun jumped back, but that tingling sensation was pooling just beneath his stomach and his face was red as the director called for them to practice a few more times to make sure they got it right. Pushing aside the feeling akin to a tightening coil coming from his groin, Jun closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He could do this. He could. And so, when Aiba-chan had readied himself, Jun began to run alongside the scooter once again.

However, three tries later, the director was still not satisfied, and Jun was beginning to despair. No matter how hard he concentrated, his body was beginning to react, and nothing Jun tried to do could mask it nor make it go away. He prayed that the director would call to shoot the scene again, but the decision came along for one more practice, and so, abandoning himself to pure hope, Jun threw himself onto the scooter behind Aiba-chan, and was met with what felt like both heaven and everything coming crumbling down in the same hot moment. Somewhere in his consciousness, he was aware of the director telling them that it was fine and that they should take places for the actual take, but Jun's mind was too busy trying to make sense of his utter state of panic to even process the direction. It took him a long moment to realize he was still pressing the incrimination part of his body against his friend, and he stumbled back, horror playing across his face as he scrambled to figure out what to do. Something in his mind was trying to work out an apology, but somehow, what came out of his mouth was "Toilet!" and so, with that excuse, he made his escape, running to the nearest bathroom with the intention to hide.

It was once he was behind closed doors, however, that he realized that he couldn't exactly go back to filming like this, and it had to be taken care of, fast. His face burned with shame, but he had no other choice, and so, swallowing hard, he tugged down his pants, fisting himself and squeezing his eyes shut as he gave a clumsy tug, trying to keep his focus. He knew there were things he was supposed to think about at times like these, girls in bikinis splayed out on the beach and schoolgirls with their skirts flipped up to reveal lacy pink panties, but he didn't have time to worry about that, didn't have time for some elaborate fantasy. And so, instead, he remembered the shape of Aiba-chan's body pressed against his own, the softness of his form, the warmth radiating from his skin, and that was enough-- too quickly, he was making a mess of himself and then struggling to clean up in a rush, swallowing his pride for the sake of work and running back to the filming, brimming with apologies to the director and staff. Returning to his friend's side, however, he lowered his eyes, his face heating up in shame. "Sorry... about that..." he mumbled, feeling utterly humiliated.

Aiba tried his best to keep balanced as the two of them practiced mounting the scooter together, and after a few tries, it felt like they were starting to find the right rhythm.  Finally, the director called for one last practice run, and Aiba gave Jun a thumbs up before getting into position.  When he felt Jun hop up behind him, though, overbalancing slightly so he was pressed close along Aiba's back, Aiba felt something else--something hard--pressing against him.  His eyes widened slightly, and he stopped the scooter, half-listening to the director's instructions, because that could only be one thing.  A moment later, Jun was rushing off to the toilet, and Aiba pressed a hand to his mouth, suppressing a giggle.  Sure, he'd had boners in public before, but in the middle of a filming...pressed up against someone...that had to be embarrassing.  At least Matsujun knew what was best for him, Aiba thought, since he was going to take care of it instead of just hoping it would go away by magic or something.

But Matsujun was sure to be back any moment now, and Aiba's mind raced to figure out what he would want a friend to say to him if he were in a similar situation.  Not make a big deal out of it, clearly...and assure him that it happened to everyone, right?  Right.  Sure enough, Jun returned red-faced and sullen, so when he apologized, Aiba shook his head, smiling.  "Happens  to me all the time!" he assured Jun brightly.  "Just gotta...take care of things as they come, right?"  He shrugged and tilted his head in a dismissive gesture.  The director was calling for places again, though, so with another encouraging smile, Aiba let the subject drop.  "Let's do our best for the rest of tonight, right?"

Jun's immediate response was one of relief; the tenseness in his body relaxed slightly as Aiba-chan gave words of encouragement rather than acting embarrassed or teasing Jun or worse, being angry. But when Jun stopped to think about it... stopped to think about how it apparently "happened to Aiba-chan all the time"... It wasn't good at all, and his face began to flush again as he bowed his head, giving one last apology before also heading to his place. His friend wasn't mad at him, and that was what mattered; there was no use in wallowing in his embarrassment or thinking too hard about the whole thing now, right? Still, even as he prepared for the next take, a lingering sense of guilt hung over him for reacting so inappropriately in a completely unreasonable situation. There was nothing sexy about a filming-- what was wrong with Jun, seriously?

Aiba could tell that Jun was still upset as they started back in on the filming, but of course, Matsujun never let anything get in the way of work.  Still, Aiba wished there were some way he could help...  "Hey," he said while they waited for things to be readied between takes, slinging a friendly arm around Jun's shoulders.  "Almost done...and we're going out with Yoko-chan after, right?"  The three of them had made plans earlier to grab food together after filming, although it was getting late, now, and Yoko-chan had finished a while ago.  Aiba knew he would take any excuse to cut his curfew as close as possible, though, so maybe Yoko-chan was the same way.

Jun tensed slightly despite himself when Aiba-chan touched him; he was afraid to let his guard down, afraid that if he let himself relax, he'd embarrass himself all over again. Still, his friend was clearly trying to cheer him up, and Jun smiled despite his worries, nodding. It was one of the things that Jun really loved about Aiba-chan, the fact that he truly worried and cared about all his friends and would put himself out there to cheer others up. Taking a deep breath, he nodded, his grin growing. "Yeah... it's going to be fun," he agreed, trying to level his head. He would finish this take, and then they'd go out together and everything would be fine and Jun would forget all about his embarrassing experience.

Aiba nodded his agreement, and then the director was calling for one more take.  It went off without a hitch, and he high-fived Jun before giving his obligatory otsukare-samas to the staff and hurrying back to their dressing room.  He was expecting to find Yoko-chan waiting for them, probably engrossed in his GameBoy, but instead the room was empty save for Aiba and Jun's things.  Upon further inspection, he found a note from Yoko, apologizing for leaving without them--apparently he'd gotten hungry.  Aiba passed the note to Jun with a shrug, moving to get changed out of his costume.  "It'll still be fun with just us," he said, "And I'm starved, so hurry up!"

Jun blinked at the note before nodding, throwing his stuff into his bag and getting out of costume, pulling on his street clothes. Their costar had probably left because they had taken so long with their last scene, Jun realized guiltily, and so, "Sorry..." he muttered, gathering his things so that they could head out. Still, he realized belatedly, he was getting the opportunity to spend time with Aiba-chan alone, just the two of them-- wasn't that what he had wanted? Something good was coming out of today, at the very least, and even if they were only running to the conbini to get nikuman after filming, it was still the two of them spending time together. And so, with a positive smile, he slung his bag over his shoulder and waited for Aiba-chan at the door. "Ready to go?"

"Yup!"  Aiba followed Jun out the door, slinging an arm around the other boy as they walked down the hall.  He hoped Matsujun wasn't still upset--it seemed like he was cheering up, but sometimes it was hard to tell with Matsujun.  They headed towards their usual conbini, chatting about the scenes they'd filmed that day and the other cast members, and as they talked, Aiba grew less and less worried.  As long as Matsujun wasn't thinking about it, who cared?

Once at the conbini, they purchased their food, and the conversation continued to flow smoothly while they ate.  It seemed to Aiba that in the Juniors, people tended to hang out in groups a lot of the time, whether at work or outside of it, and he was no exception (outside of playing video games at Nino's place).  This was really enjoyable, though, to just eat and talk and joke with Matsujun one-on-one.  Matsujun tried to be so serious a lot of the time, but he could be a really funny guy when you got to actually talking to him, and of course, Aiba couldn't help but admire his grin out of the corner of his eye.  There was no denying that Matsujun had a cute smile, and it gave Aiba a warm, happy feeling inside whenever he saw it.

Jun couldn't help but grin the whole while he and Aiba-chan were standing outside the conbini eating. It was getting late, and Jun had homework to go home to and school in the morning, but somehow, even more than when they were in a large group, they seemed to fit together well. Aiba-chan was funny and interesting to talk to, and though he was more bold and outspoken than Jun, he brought out Jun's confidence, somehow, and before Jun knew it, almost an hour had gone by. He really didn't want to go, but the responsible part of him was nagging, and so he smiled sheepishly. "It's getting late..." But I don't want to go, he added mentally, but he couldn't quite gather the courage to say it, and so he only looked back at Aiba-chan, hoping he'd insist on staying later.

"Yeah...  I guess it is," Aiba agreed, pouting a little.  He was having such a good time, and going home just meant having to do his homework, and probably facing a lecture about staying out too late.  "Hey, do you ever think it would be cool to stay out all night?  Just to see what the world looks like?"  Aiba was caught up in the idea for a moment, staring up at the sky, but then he remembered that Matsujun probably meant that he had to go.  His pout returned, and he turned to face Jun, walking backwards away from him a few paces.  "This was fun," he said, tilting his head and smiling slightly.  "We should do it again sometime, don't you think?"

Heart skipping a beat at Aiba-chan's words, Jun nodded quickly, a grin growing on his face. "Definitely!" he replied perhaps a little too eagerly, excitement showing in his voice. He blushed a little, but smiled brightly all the same, ducking his head slightly in embarrassment. "I mean... I'd really like that," he added a little more quietly, meeting Aiba-chan's eyes again hopefully. "And... sometime, I'd like to stay out all night together, just you and me, and see what it's like." His voice was a hesitant but certain, and his smile grew just a little at the thought. Things were just starting for their friendship, he felt confident, and things were really looking up, for Jun's life, for Jun's career, for everything.

"Let's do it sometime for sure, then!" Aiba gave a determined nod.  "Come on, we should head to the station."  The smile remained on Aiba's lips as they walked, growing a little every time he looked over at Jun's matching expression.  Soon enough, though, they reached the station, and it was time to part ways.  Aiba pulled Jun into a hug, his standard greeting and farewell for any of his close friends, enjoying the brief burst of warmth and closeness.  "See you next time!"

Any words of reply that Jun had been preparing died in his throat at the hug, and he tried not to tense up too much, tried not to act strangely. The embrace itself felt amazing, and some part of Jun urged him to remember the feeling, the tightness of Aiba-chan's lanky arms around his body, the pleasant smell of laundry detergent and shampoo, the softness of Aiba-chan's skin. But before he could even think for too long, Aiba-chan was pulling away, smiling at him with a parting greeting. Jun smiled dumbly as well, nodding and waving, before boarding his train in a bit of a daze. Despite all of its down points, he reflected, cramming himself into the crowded cars of the Yamanote train, today had been a good day, and things were only going to get better, of that he was certain.
